Affiliate FAQ
Last updated: 7 September 2026
Everything you need to know about the CourierTax affiliate program — how it works, how you earn, and how you get paid.
How does it work?
You get your own personal discount code. Share it with your followers — anyone who buys the VAT Registration Guide using your code gets £3 off, and you earn a commission on that sale. No cost to you, no stock, nothing to fulfil — just a code and a link.
How much do I earn?
£5 per sale made with your code, unless we've agreed a different rate with you directly (this is shown on your dashboard).
How do I get my code?
Apply at the application page — we check your social handles before approving, so make sure you fill in at least one. Once approved, your code and dashboard go live and you'll be able to log in and see it straight away.
Do I get a free copy of the guide?
Yes — once you're approved, we send you a one-time code for a free copy of the guide, on us. It's the same guide your followers buy, set up through your own reader account, so you can actually read it and speak from experience rather than promoting something you've never seen. You'll get the code by email and it's also shown on your dashboard until you redeem it.
How do I know it's working?
Log in to your affiliate dashboard any time to see your redemptions (how many sales your code has made), what you're owed, and your full payment history.
When and how do I get paid?
Payouts go out on the 27th of each month, covering sales made in the previous calendar month — so a sale on, say, 3 August is paid on 27 September. That gap gives us time to make sure a sale hasn't been refunded before commission goes out on it.
Payment is sent to the PayPal email you gave us on your application. If that changes, email us to update it before the next payout.
Is there a minimum before I get paid?
No — whatever you're owed goes out on the next 27th, however small.
What happens if a sale gets refunded?
Refunded sales don't count toward what you're owed. If it's refunded before your payout date, it's simply excluded from that month's total.
What if my application isn't approved?
We'll tell you why (usually something simple, like no working link on your handles). You're welcome to email affiliates@couriertax.co.uk if you think it's a mistake.
Can I choose my own code?
You can request one when you apply — we'll use it unless it clashes with someone else's, in which case we'll agree an alternative with you before approving.
Do I need to say this is a paid/affiliate post?
Yes — this is a legal requirement in the UK (ASA/CAP Code), not optional. Because you earn commission, it counts as a paid promotion even though no cash changes hands upfront. Add #ad or #affiliate somewhere clearly visible in the post or video, or use the platform's own "Paid partnership" label where one's available (TikTok and Instagram both have this built in). It takes two seconds and keeps you covered — we've already added it to the examples below.
Need content ideas?
Video works far better than a static post on TikTok/Instagram/Facebook — but if you'd rather not film, a caption works too. Swap in your own code wherever you see [CODE].
"If you're a self-employed courier and you're not VAT registered — you could be missing out on thousands a year. No joke.
Most drivers don't even realise you can claim money back under the flat rate scheme, or they hear 'VAT' and just avoid it.
I found a step-by-step guide — written by a qualified accountant who's also a driver — that walks you through the whole thing in plain English, no jargon.
Use my code [CODE] for £3 off — link's in my bio."
Don't forget: use TikTok/Instagram's "Paid partnership" label, or add #ad as on-screen text/caption.
